Weather Update for Jammu & Kashmir: April 20, 2025
Srinagar, April 20 – The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has issued a comprehensive weather forecast and advisory for Jammu & Kashmir, covering the period from April 20 to April 28, 2025.
Forecast Overview:
- April 20: The region is expected to witness partly to generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain in most areas. Higher reaches may experience light snowfall. Thunderstorms, hailstorms, and gusty winds are likely during the afternoon and evening hours.
- April 21: Weather is expected to remain generally cloudy with chances of light rain and thunder at scattered locations across the Union Territory.
- April 22 to 28: A generally dry spell is forecasted, although cloudiness may increase by the evening of April 25.
Advisory Issued:
The MET Centre has urged all residents and travelers to plan their activities accordingly and stay updated with administrative and traffic advisories. Key points from the advisory include:
- Farmers are advised to suspend all farming operations until April 21 to avoid weather-related damages.
- There is a possibility of landslides, mudslides, and shooting stones in vulnerable areas, especially during and after rain.
- People are strongly advised to stay indoors or in safe shelters during periods of thunder, lightning, and gusty winds.
