DIG South Kashmir Chairs Security Review Meeting In Anantnag

Srinagar,April 5 (GNS):A security review meeting was convened at Range Police Headquarters Anantnag by Deputy Inspector General of Police, South Kashmir Range which was attended by senior officers of Army/ CAPF including Commanders 1, 5, 12 & 2 Sector RR, DIG Ops CRPF Awantipora, all District SSsP of SKR, representative of IB and DySsP of CID CI/SB SKR.

 

In a handout to GNS, the police said that the agenda of the meeting was to assess the current security scenario in South Kashmir Range and chalk out strategies to meet out any potential security challenges during upcoming events and SANJY-2025. During the meeting, participants provided detailed inputs on the prevailing terrorist threats and discussed counter measures to address them. Representatives from intelligence agencies shared intelligence regarding potential security challenges, while senior, ARMY, CAPF officers and District SSsP outlined their strategies to counter the emerging threats for ensuring security and peaceful atmosphere in SKR.

 

The DIG SKR and other senior ARMY/CAPF officers emphasized the importance of maintaining operational synergy and close coordination between all security forces and agencies to ensure a peaceful and secure environment in SKR. The need for proactive measures, enhanced vigilance, and swift response mechanisms was highlighted to counter any potential threats. Some Key directives were also issued to ensure the implementation of robust security measures at ground level.

 

The meeting concluded with a strong resolve among all participating agencies to work in unison to ensure the safety and security in the whole SKR particularly ensuring the successful and incident free conclusion of upcoming events, reads the statement.(GNS)
