Gusty winds damage power infra, affect power supply in Kulgam, dozens of houses damaged

Efforts being made to restore electricity at earliest; Teams deputed on ground to assess the damage; None hurt so far: Official

Kulgam, March 28: (VOI) The gusty winds on late Thursday evening damaged transmission lines across the Kulgam district, affecting the electricity supply in most of the areas even as the Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited Department (KPDCL) said that the teams were on job to repair the lines.

 

A senior official at KPDCL Kulgam said that gusty winds has damaged several LT/HT lines in various areas of Kulgam and our teams are on the ground, working tirelessly to restore power supply in affected areas at the earliest.

 

“Teams have been pressed into the service to repair these lines in the shortest possible time, and power supply will be restored as soon as possible”, he said.

 

Meanwhile, several residential houses were also damaged after trees uprooted and fell on them, crops and apple orchards also suffered damage in the district.

 

However, there was no report of any loss of life or injury, so far.
