59 Patwari, 26 Girdawar posts vacant in Kupwara

‘JKSSB selects 36 candidates for Patwari posts; 20 Girdawar posts filled in last three years’

Srinagar, Mar 11 (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday informed the House that 59 posts of Patwari and 26 posts of Girdawar are lying vacant in Kupwara district in north Kashmir.
Responding to a query raised by MLA Mir Saifullah, the Minister In-Charge Revenue Department, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that the vacant Patwari posts will be filled, as the process is underway.
“Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB), vide notification number JKSSB-Scry/1/2025-03 (E-7627406) dated 11.02.2025, has made provisional selection of 36 candidates to fill some of the vacant Patwari posts,” it said.
Regarding Girdawar posts, the Minister informed that the department has filled 17 Girdawar vacancies in the last three years through promotions.
“In 2022-23, nine posts of Girdawar were filled through promotions, followed by eight in 2023-24,” the Minister said, adding that the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) will meet soon to fill the remaining vacancies—(KNO)
