SMC Commissioner Assures Employees of Salary Disbursement Within Two Days
Srinagar, Jan 3, KNT: Commissioner, of Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Dr. Owais Friday said that the salaries of SMC employees will be disbursed within the next day or two.
This declaration comes after employees of the SMC reported that they had not received their salaries for the past two months, which has left them struggling to support their families.
Speaking to the news agency, Kashmir News Trust, Dr. Owais confirmed that the salaries are currently being processed in the treasury and will be distributed to the employees shortly.
“Salaries are under process in the treasury, and it will take one or two days to disburse them among the employees,” he said.
“The delay in salary payments has caused distress among us. We are mulling to stage a protest in case salaries are not released,” a group of employees said. [KNT]
