Doctors Association Kashmir Appeals for Emergency Transport Services for Healthcare Employees Amid Heavy Snowfall
Srinagar, December 28, 2024: Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) has urged the administration to ensure emergency transport services for healthcare employees to reach their duty stations amid the ongoing heavy snowfall. The association emphasized the critical role of healthcare professionals in providing uninterrupted medical services during these testing times.
Dr. M.Y. Tak, President of DAK, stressed, “Patient care is our topmost priority, and we appeal to the administration to coordinate with health officials to arrange emergency transport facilities for healthcare workers. This will ensure that hospitals remain fully functional and accessible to those in need, despite adverse weather conditions.”
The association also requested doctors currently on duty to remain stationed until their relievers arrive, ensuring a seamless transition and continuity of care.
Dr. Owais H. Dar, General Secretary of DAK, stated, “Healthcare professionals are the backbone of the healthcare system, especially during crises. We urge our colleagues to show resilience and dedication by staying at their posts until replacements join. Together, we can uphold our commitment to serving the people during these challenging times.”
Dr. Masood Rashid, President of SCD and an executive member of DAK, added, “Heavy snowfall poses significant challenges, but our responsibility toward patient care remains unwavering. We also request the public to cooperate with healthcare professionals and follow necessary precautions to reduce avoidable emergencies during this period.”
