GMC Anantnag becomes the first College in UT of J and K to get endoscopic workstation installed.

In a significant development, Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Najeeb inaugurated the installation of state of the art, latest cuting edge technology based endoscopic workstation at Department of General Medicine GMC Anantnag. As reported by the HOD General Medicine Dr Mashkoor Ahmad Beigh, GMC Anantnag has become the first College in whole jammu and kashmir to get such a workstation installed.
Due to personel interventions and efforts from Principle and Dean of GMC Anantnag, this workstation was finally installed today in the gastroenterology section of the General Medicine Department. It is pertinent to mention that this project was pending for last 4 years and Prof. Najeeb made it sure that its installed without a further delay.
The installation of endoscopic workstation will be a great relief for people of south Kashmir as the procedures for which they used to go to higher centres will be dealt with at their doorsteps only. Procedures like ERCP, polypectomy of early cancers ( as diagnostic and therapeutic procedure) and management of lower and upper gastrointestinal bleed will be made possible by this state of art station.
Head department of General Medicine Dr Beigh thanked Professor Najeeb for helping the department to get this high end workstation installed and added that this step will prove yet another great leap towards making GMC Anantnag one of the best medical colleges in the whole country.
