Srinagar Records Coldest Night of Season at -6.2°C; Kashmir Valley Reels Under Intense Cold Wave

 

Srinagar, Dec 20: Srinagar recorded the coldest night of the season, with the minimum temperature plummeting to -6.2°C.

 

The Kashmir Valley is reeling under intense cold wave conditions, with several areas recording sub-zero temperatures.

 

According to the Kashmir Weather, Qazigund recorded a minimum temperature of -7.6°C, while Pahalgam recorded -8.2°C. Other areas in the Kashmir region that recorded sub-zero temperatures include Kupwara (-6.5°C), Kokernag (-5.8°C), Gulmarg (-6.0°C), Sonamarg (-9.0°C), Zojila (-24.0°C), Bandipora (-7.3°C), Baramulla (-5.9°C), Budgam (-7.6°C), Ganderbal (-6.4°C), Pulwama (-9.5°C), Anantnag (-9.9°C), Khudwani (-8.5°C), Kulgam (-6.8°C), Shopian (-10.0°C), and Larnoo (-9.1°C).

 

In the Jammu region, Jammu recorded a minimum temperature of 6.9°C, while Banihal recorded -3.8°C. Other areas in the Jammu region that recorded low temperatures include Batote (1.0°C), Katra (6.0°C), Bhaderwah (-1.6°C), Kishtwar (1.0°C), Padder (-8.5°C), Ramban (4.5°C), Poonch (1.2°C), Rajouri (0.3°C), Samba (2.1°C), Kathua (6.6°C), Reasi (2.4°C), and Udhampur (1.4°C).

 

In Ladakh, Leh recorded a minimum temperature of -11.8°C, while Kargil recorded -13.8°C.

 

The cold wave conditions are expected to continue in the region, with the Meteorological Department predicting further drop in temperatures in the coming days.
