CIK Busts Recruitment Module of Newly Floated Militant Outfit In Kashmir
Srinagar, Oct 22, KNT: The Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) conducted searches at multiple locations across six districts, busting a recruitment module of the newly formed militant organization ‘Tehreek Labaik Ya Muslim’ (TLM), an offshoot of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
According to CIK, the searches, authorized by the Court of Special Judge, Designated under NIA Act, Srinagar, were carried out in Srinagar, Ganderbal, Bandipora, Kulgam, Budgam, Anantnag, and Pulwama. The operation resulted in the seizure of incriminating materials, digital devices, SIM cards, mobile phones, laptops, and seditious content.
Investigations revealed that TLM, headed by Pakistani handler Baba Hamas, aimed to radicalize Kashmiri youths through social media platforms, luring them into militant activities. The module claimed responsibility for recent incidents, including the attack on a Panchayat Ghar in Seer, Pulwama, and poster campaigns glorifying militancy across South and Central Kashmir.
The investigation has revealed that TLM was in continuous touch with handlers and members of militant organizations across the border, using encrypted internet messaging platforms and other software applications. [KNT]
