HEAVY SNOWFALL WARNING ISSUED FOR JAMMU AND KASHMIR
Srinagar, October 20, 2024 – Independent weather forecaster Aadil Maqbool has issued a heavy snowfall warning for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting a fresh Western disturbance to hit the region from October 23 onwards.
According to Maqbool, international weather models indicate a 60% chance of good rain and snow, with the season’s first snowfall expected over the plains of Sonamarg, Gulmarg, Doodhpatri, and Peer ki Gali from October 23.
“Apple farmers are advised to safeguard their crops before October 23, as there are chances of a good wet spell,” Maqbool cautioned.

The Western disturbance is expected to persist from October 23 to 26, with a 55% chance of occurrence. However, Maqbool noted that the forecast may change in the coming days and promised to provide updates.
