Advisory for Cleanliness Drive in All Schools on 18-07-2024 : School Education Department
Srinagar July 16 : The Government of Jammu & Kashmir, Department of School Education, has announced a cleanliness drive to be conducted in all schools on the 18th of July, 2024. This step is crucial as schools reopen after the summer vacations to ensure a safe and conducive learning environment for students. The following measures must be implemented by all Heads of Institutions (HoIs) to maintain hygiene and safety:
1. Cleanliness
– All areas, including classrooms, corridors, and common areas, must be thoroughly cleaned.
– Special attention should be paid to cleaning toilets to ensure they are hygienic and well-maintained.
– Water tanks must be cleaned and disinfected to provide safe drinking water.
– Rooftops should be cleared of any debris and dirt.
2. Grass Cutting
– Lawns and grounds should be trimmed and maintained to ensure a neat and safe environment for students.
3. Removal of Junk and Debris
– Any junk, waste, or debris on the school premises should be cleared to maintain a clean and clutter-free environment.
4. Removal of Stagnant Water
– Identify and remove any stagnant water to prevent the breeding of mosquitoes and other pests.
5. Plugging of Water Leakages
– Inspect the premises for any water leakages and ensure they are repaired promptly to avoid water wastage and potential damage to infrastructure.
These measures are essential for providing a safe, clean, and conducive environment for students as they return to school.

Chief Education Officers, Zonal Education Officers, and Heads of Institutions are required to adhere to these guidelines to ensure the successful implementation of the cleanliness drive.
