PoJK is part of India, this isn’t just a Parl resolution but belief of people:Amit Shah
‘Cong, NC, PDP will suffer defeat in J&K’
None can grab even an inch of our land
Jammu, Apr 21: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has said that entire Jammu and Kashmir including Pakistan occupied Jammu Kashmir (PoJK) is part of India and this is not just a Parliament resolution but belief of the people of this country.
The Home Minister said this in an interview to India Today.
“The issue of PoJK not just pertains to me alone but entire country. There is Parliament resolution as well. We have firm belief that entire Jammu and Kashmir including PoJK is part of India. When the appropriate time comes, the people will work,” Shah said.
He said the strategy can’t be disclosed in the interview.
Replying to a question on Parliamentary elections in Jammu and Kashmir, the Home Minister declared that three dynastic parties including Congress, National Conference and People’s Democratic Party (PDP) will suffer defeat.
“People will decide their alternatives in Kashmir,” he said.
It may be mentioned here that the BJP has repeated its two-time sitting MPs in Jammu-Reasi and Udhampur-Doda Lok Sabha seats while the party hasn’t fielded any candidate in Anantnag-Rajouri-Poonch Parliamentary constituency where April 19 was last date for filing nomination papers. There were indications that the party may not field candidates in Srinagar and Baramulla Lok Sabha seats as well.
Replying to a question on a report published in The Guardian newspaper that India has carried out 20 targeted killings inside Pakistan, the Home Minister said whosoever has killed (the terrorists) what is the problem in that? “Why should we debate who killed them (the terrorists)?” he asserted.
On Opposition Congress raising the issue of China, Shah said the Congress has no right to raise this issue as the first Prime Minister of India Jawahar Lal Nehru’s tenure, lakhs of acres of land was grabbed by China and he had even said bye bye to Assam.
“Now under Narendra Modi Government, none can grab even an inch of the Indian land,” he added.
Shah charged the Congress with protecting Article 370 of the Constitution of India granting special status to Jammu and Kashmir saying the BJP Government revoked it and fully integrated Jammu and Kashmir with India.
Addressing a rally, Shah took Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti to task for their claims that there would be bloodbath in Kashmir if Article 370 was abrogated.
“Rahul and Mehbooba used to predict bloodbath in Jammu and Kashmir if the special status was removed. Nearly five years have passed since Article 370 was abrogated. Leave alone the talk of bloodbath, none has been guts to throw a stone in Kashmir,” the Union Home Minister said, adding this is the Narendra Modi Government.
Shah said that during the former UPA Government’s rule, terrorists used to infiltrate and carry out attacks.
“When the Modi Government was formed, terrorists attacked again in Pulwama. They forgot it was not a Congress Government anymore but a BJP Government and that Narendra Modi is the Prime Minister. In just 10 days, Modi eliminated terrorists by conducting surgical and air strikes in Pakistan,” he added.
“There is peace in Kashmir and the northeast. Naxalism is on the verge of ending. Modi has worked to secure the country and make it prosperous. In 10 years, Modi worked to bring the economy from number 11 to five. Make Modi the Prime Minister for the third time and India will become the third-largest economy,” Shah said.
Targeting Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, he claimed that they go on vacations abroad every three months.
Shah said voting for Modi meant voting for the creation of “Mahan Bharat”.
“Modi fulfilled all promises he made in the last 10 years,” he added.
The Union Home Minister hit out at Congress leaders for not attending the consecration ceremony of the Ayodhya Ram temple, alleging that they were afraid of losing their vote bank.
“The public will never forgive those who did not visit Ram Lalla out of greed for vote bank,” he said.–(Daily Excelsior)
