Blacklisting of 1550 Vehicles in Kashmir: SSP Traffic Rural Kashmir
Violators given last chance to clear pending challans in forthcoming Lok Adalat
Srinagar 22 Nov (CNS): Sr. Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic Rural Kashmir R K Singh on Wednesday said that 1550 vehicles would be blacklisted in Kashmir division barring Srinagar district if the outstanding challans remained undisposed.
R K Singh told the news agency CNS that 1550 vehicles of Kashmir except the summer capital were issued challans on account of various traffic violations but the erring individuals have not yet disposed of the same. Not clearing of the challans, he said, would compel the concerned ARTOs to blacklist the vehicles.
He said the list of vehicles against which the challans were issued in the past was published in print and social media platforms. SSP said that the move of blacklisting the erring owners’ vehicles was formulated after the lapse of huge time given to the violators, who were not treating it with seriousness.
However, Singh said violators have been given a last chance to get their challans cleared in the forthcoming Lok Adalat to be held on 9th December 2023 in all the respective courts of their areas. (CNS)
