Nursing and Paramedical College GMC Anantnag celebrated “International Nursing Day

Anantnag 15 May :(ANR) The college of Nursing and paramedical sciences GMC Anantnag in collaboration with MMABM Hospital, Associated hospital of GMC Anantnag, celebrated “International Nurses Day and oath taking-cum-lamp lighting ceremony of Ist Semester students to commemorate birth anniversary of “Florence Nightingale” the pioneer of modern nursing. The progamme which was held today focused on this year’s theme “Our Nurses our Future”.

Principal GMC Anantnag Prof. Dr. Syed Tariq Qureshi was Chief guest on the occasion, while speaking on the occasion, he congratulated Nursing fraternity and said the role of nurse is critical in any medical setup. He asked Nurses to be more contributory and guide patients to use digital platforms available at hospitals to facilitate over all patient care system.

Prof. Dr. Dilshada wani, vice principal Govt. Nursing college Baramullah was the Guest of honor. She stressed on the role of nurses in patient care. She applauded them for their contribution and said that nurses nowadays have to play dual role and participate in teaching besides their routine work.

Medical Superintendent, Dr Abid Hussain Malik in his address lauded role of “Nurses in CoVID -19 which was recently declared by WHO as end of medical emergency. He further said that future demands nurses to be more diversified and should become tech savy to make efficient use to digital systems now available in hospital settings for more prompt patient care.

Chief Organizing Secretary, Dr Saima Habeeb in her address unfolded the theme of the event and highlighted the role of nurses in modern era. 

Lamp lighting was carried out by chief guest, Guest of Honor, Medical superintendent, deputy Medical superintendent, HODs various departments, Administrative officer and Chief accounts officer along with Ist Semester Bsc nursing students

Oath ceremony was carried out by Dr Saima Habeeb, Assistant Professor, CNPS, GMC Anantnag.

Organizing Chairperson, Dr Tajali Nazir Shora, concluded the session by presenting a vote of thanks.

The validictory function was attended by Head of departments of all departments of GMC Anantnag, Faculty GMCA, Incharges of Various sections of MMABM and MCH hospital, Nursing Faculty , Nursing staff, Administrative Heads and Nursing and paramedical Students of GMC Anantnag.
